Madison Burgess
We were delighted to ask Madison to return to the U.K from Canada in 2021 to understudy Abi’s role in The Hotel Experience. This is especially special for us as Madison first performed with Lîla as part of our community cast for The Deluge in 2015, Learn more about Madison’s first experience of Lîla.
Madison Burgess is a dance artist originally from Toronto, Canada. After graduating with honours from York University’s BFA in Dance, specializing in performance and choreography, Madison has been dancing and creating within the Toronto community, credited as “some of the inspiring talent flourishing in the Canadian dance community” - David Silverberg, Now Magazine.
Madison has worked and collaborated in Toronto with many choreographers including Susan Lee, Suzanne Liska, Jasmyn Fyffe, Carol Anderson, Michael Greyeyes, Victoria Gubiani and Emily Rapley.
During the 2019/2020 season, Madison pursued her Master’s at the University of Chichester, touring as a company member with MapDance performing works by Gary Clarke, Noa Shadur, Jose Agudo and Ceyda Tanc. Madison has been a part of many in-person/virtual shows, festivals and several independent projects as she continues to pursue her career as a performer, choreographer and teacher.
