The Making of Lîla Dance's Incredible Trailer
When we were planning the marketing for our new work, we knew we wanted to do something a bit different. Usually Dougie cuts a trailer using footage of the live show, but for The Incredible Presence of a Remarkable Absence, he had other ideas.
Dougie, who is Co-Artisitic Director of Lîla Dance and responsible for our marketing, had an idea: what if we made a trailer that allowed the audience to live inside the world for a few short minutes?
So we hired WigglyLine Productions for a day of filming at The Point in Eastleigh. The film was Directed by Josh Thompson, and we think it's beautiful. They filmed some of our favourite moments from unique and exclusive angles, using dollies, tracks, and cranes to capture the piece with a cinematic edge. When it was finished, Josh sent the trailer to us for a custom made soundtrack by Dougie Evans we think it's a short film in its own right.
The whole process was filmed and made into a behind the scenes video

Tell us what you think below. Do you think it's a short film, or is it just a fantastic trailer? Do you feel like it transports you into our world? We'd love to hear what you think.
